Goodbye Insomnia, Hello PangeaBed™ Copper Mattress!
My insomnia story starts in June 2016. It’s not something I ever thought would happen to me. There were no signs that told me I would one night not be able to sleep, and that it would continue every night for the next 8 months. Insomnia becomes a cycle. You can’t stop thinking about whether or not you will be able to sleep that night, you get agitated and anxious, and then you can’t fall asleep again. I have been working on this and trying to find ways to get sleep without turning to heavy medication. Most of the sleep aids out there turn me into a zombie the next day. I refuse to live this way. Among more natural methods, I have found one factor that has played a huge role in my sleep: a proper mattress.

If you follow my blog, you know that I recently moved from Denver to Albuquerque. I had been living in a furnished house, so I did not own a bed. I did, however, own 2 mattress toppers that I put on top of one of those beds where you can change the firmness. I don’t have a logical explanation for why I did this, except that the mattress toppers are large and hard to fold up and I didn’t want to put them in storage. This made for a very squishy bed. Soft beds can be cozy and comfortable at first, but over time they are awful on my back and have led to many trips to the chiropractor. I also tossed and turned at night, not sleeping through the night. Add insomnia to that, and sleep became a nightmare! I can’t forget to mention how gross my toppers must have been after years of sleeping on them. Think of all the bacteria. Yuck!
Now that I am living in my own place, I needed a mattress. I looked at many different mattresses online and am very excited to introduce you to PangeaBed™. The first thing that attracted me to PangeaBed is that it ships to you in a manageable box. I didn’t have to worry about paying delivery guys to bring me a mattress or renting a truck to carry a large, awkward mattress out of a store. They deliver free of charge right to your door. And if you have a nice delivery man like I do, they might even carry it up the stairs to your 2nd floor apartment. 🙂
PangeaBed uses copper-infused 100% pure Talalay Latex to bring you a cooler and cleaner sleep while offering exceptional comfort and support. I have never heard of a mattress that uses these materials! The mattress is composed of four layers:
- Soft Foam Quilted Cover (plush, breathable, and durable)
- Copper-Infused 100% Pure Talalay Latex (a cool, antibacterial and hypoallergenic layer)
- PangeaBed Cool Gel (reduces heat retention and pressure points)
- PangeaBed Support Foam (offers superior support while contouring to the sleeper’s body weight, making it the optimum base)
Because the mattress contours to your body weight, you will not get the full effect of the mattress if you just sit on the edge to determine firmness. It sinks more if you are focusing all your body weight on one area. When you lay down, the amount of support this mattress gives you throughout your whole body is amazing!
The fun part is opening up the mattress. I will be uploading a video on YouTube, so make sure you follow me there. The mattress comes shrink-wrapped and they provide instructions and a handy blade.
