Every year on our birthday, my mom would make a cake for us, flavor and icing decided by the child whose birthday was being celebrated. I don’t remember why my mom made this dessert, probably for a family function, and I decided this was what I wanted instead of regular cake. So every year since, include the years I haven’t been home, I have had this Oreo ice cream cake, made my either my mom or myself.

Buster Bar Dessert oreo ice cream

Buster Bar Dessert {Oreo Ice Cream Cake}

1 lg. pkg. Oreo Cookies (crushed)
1 stick margarine (softened)
½ gallon Cookies & Cream ice cream (softened)
1-16oz can or jar Mrs. Richardson’s fudge sauce or topping
1-8oz cool whip

Set aside 1 cup crushed cookies for topping. Mixed crushed cookies and margarine and spread in 13×9 pan. Spread ½ gallon ice cream on crumbs and freeze. Pour 1 can of fudge sauce over ice cream and freeze. Spread cool whip and top with crushed cookies. Freeze. Let stand 5 minutes before cutting.

    mmm, this looks really good. I was just thinking about ordering an icecream cake for my nephews bday, but maybe ill make one instead. This looks easy enough and I bet the kids would devour it.
