Be Approachable

One of the first things you can do to keep your staff happy is to be as approachable as you can be. Nobody wants to work for a boss that doesn’t seem to be interested in their employees’ well-being. If one of your employees comes to you with a problem then they need to see you be proactive and come to some sort of resolution. For instance, there may be some issues amongst your employees. If this is the case then how about you sit down with any employees involved and get to the bottom of the issue?

Offer Incentives

When it comes to looking after your employees, it is essential you understand they don’t want to be stuck in a dead-end job. Instead of just expecting your employees to get on with their jobs day in and day out, how about offering them the chance at a promotion? If you don’t think they are ready for a promotion then maybe some of your employees would appreciate some training to further their skills and knowledge. If your employees feel like you value them and want to keep them as part of your business then they will be more likely to want to stick around.

Similar to incentives and promotions, it might be a nice idea to reward your employees with other things such as days off or reward days out as a team. This is something that might cost your business a bit more money but it will be worth it to see happy, healthy, and appreciated employees. You don’t have to give out anything too big or fancy, take a look at Challenge Coins Ltd for instance, these are small coins with your branding or logo on that you can give out to your employees.

Allow Hybrid Working

Since the wake of Covid-19, it has become the norm to work from home either full-time or part-time. If your company has gone back to the office on a full-time basis then you may have some disgruntled employees. Working from home didn’t work for everyone, but some may have really enjoyed it and found it better for them. As a responsible boss who values their employees’ views and opinions, if someone comes to you asking to work from home for whatever reason then you should be reasonable in your response.
