Gourmet Hot Chocolate

When the weather gets cold, I love cuddling up on the couch with a blanket and enjoying a yummy hot beverage like hot chocolate. Places like Starbucks make some delicious drinks, but can drain your wallet. You can make your own “gourmet” drink right at home! Here are some things you will need:

– hot chocolate mix
– flavored creamer or milk
– whipped cream
– marshmallows
– chocolate syrup

You don’t have to buy name brand mix. I suggest finding a dark chocolate mix. I do not prefer dark chocolate in bar form, but as a hot chocolate flavor it is soooo delicious. Make your mix according to the directions. You can warm milk on the stove to make it creamier, or you can add flavored creamer. I love using Peppermint Mocha to create a mint hot chocolate drink.

Get Creative

As a topping, you can add marshmallows or whipped cream with chocolate syrup drizzled on top. And you just created a gourmet drink at home! Enjoy!

It is getting cold here…the kind of cold where hot chocolate is a must. I just wish I felt up to drinking some (been fighting off this stomach bug)

we love hot chocolate in my house…try adding ‘cinnamon’ or for ‘adults only’ hot chocolate, add some kahlua, peppermint schnapps or grand marnier.

I keep looking for a hot chocolate recipe that is a keeper. I did find one I liked but I think it had a million calories 🙂 I like your idea of the creamer. That’s sounds like a good idea.
