I love baking but, to be honest, it can be intimidating. It really is a science and a number of things can go wrong if you mess up the ingredients. I am always looking for products that will help me look like a master baker without the stress of being one! That’s why I was so excited to try Gourmet Souffle, a chocolate souffle kit.
My roommate and I held an Ugly Christmas Sweater party this past weekend and we made all sorts of goodies, including the Gourmet Souffle. We had about 25 friends (more than expected!) show up to our little apartment and we had a blast. We played games and drank eggnog out of moose mugs, like the ones Clark Griswold used. I spent all day getting ready and it was down to the wire. I had 30 minutes before the party and I still had not made the souffles yet. Well, did I mention yet that these are INSTANT souffles?
Gourmet Souffle is so easy. All you need is a convection oven (or conventional oven), water, and toppings of your choice. You just mix the souffle mix with water, pour into your butter and sugar coated ramekins, and bake. They are done in 15 minutes! They were finished just in time for my party. I did have some problems adjusting for the altitude here in Colorado. The souffles looked perfect and the fork test came back clean, but the second I took them out of the oven, they all sunk in. 🙁 But I added chocolate syrup, raspberries, and whipped cream on top so they still looked beautiful.
These were a hit with my guests! They disappeared as soon as I turned around. Your family or party guests will love this dessert. You could even do a “souffle bar” where everyone can choose their own toppings. How fun that would be! A 6 oz. Gourmet Souffle kit makes 4 souffles and costs $14.99.
