Great Ways To Encourage Shopping Within Your Store

Opening up a physical location for your business is hard work. Sure, running an ecommerce store is difficult enough, but it feels like less and less people are shopping in person. So how do you encourage someone to come in, and once they’re in, how do you ensure they buy something?

It’s a matter of knowing who your customers are, what they respond to, and how you can effectively market to them within real time. So with all that in mind, here are some great ways to encourage a customer to embrace the shopping experience when they walk into your store.

Breathe Personality into Your Window Displays

Your window displays aren’t just a good way to catch someone’s eye. They’re also a good way to show off your company’s personality, both inside and out. They draw the right people through your door, and once they’re in, they help to flow with the rest of your decor – more on that later. For now, make sure your window displays are truly representative, and have a lot of power on a person’s buying decisions.

Set Up a TV

Having a TV on in the background is a good way to set the scene. Not only can you show off your brand through them, but you can pass on a lot of information your customer can put to good use. Indeed, you can use TVs to the greatest effect when people are queuing to pay.

Use a service like loop to make this happen; hook up a couple TVs, have adverts, trailers, and promotions cycling through, and keep your customers entertained while in line. It won’t be boring to wait around with plenty of products in hand when there’s something to watch.

Make Your Sales Obvious

If you’ve got a sale on, don’t hide it! A lot of businesses tend to underestimate just how much power even just 20% off has on shoppers, and that comes back to bite them. So make it obvious that you’ve discounted some products; use big stickers in the window, and make sure you post about it on social media. Once people are in, with the pull of a sale attracting them, they’re far more likely to buy when they know they’re getting a good deal.

Decorate Your Entire Store to Look Interesting

You’ve got to match your brand perception, but that doesn’t mean you need to be boring! You need to decorate cohesively. If you’re a clothing brand, using wardrobe shaped shelves, placing plenty of mirrors around, and putting fashion related imagery on the wall can work wonders.

Add texture, add dimension, and make sure the lighting and music aligns as well. You’re trying to set a good atmosphere here, and some interesting decor will make a customer feel right at home.

If you want your customers to love shopping with you, you’re going to need to set up a convenient and immersive store experience. Keep tips like these in mind as you go.
