I moved to Denver, Colorado just over 6 years ago. While I enjoy Colorado immensely, its climate is much different than that of the state I grew up, Wisconsin. Wisconsin doesn’t get too hot in summer, but it is always humid. At least it felt that way. It made summers hotter and winters colder. It was humid year round. It wasn’t always unbearable, but it was definitely more humid than the state of Colorado. I never would have thought this mattered until I started experiencing some “firsts” and some changes in my body.
The first thing that happened was I started getting nosebleeds. Usually after a night of sleeping, I would wake up and my nose would be really dry. I would blow my nose and it would start bleeding. I had never had a nosebleed in my entire life. This happened a few times in the first few months I lived here. Some other things that were different, and still happen to this day, are my hair is more dry and damaged, and my skin is drier. The skin around my fingernails is especially dry and cracks a lot. I was accustomed to this happening just in winter when it was cold, but now they are like this throughout the year. My poor body is used to more moisture than what I am getting.
I remember when I was a kid that my mom used to set up a dehumidifier in our bedroom in the winter, and now I need a humidifier! Honeywell sent me this great humidifier to review. The Designer Series Cool Moisture Humidifier Review (HUT-300B) is a filter-free, cool mist humidifier. I find the tea kettle design to be aesthetically pleasing and will fit with any home decor.
Ultrasonic Technology provides a fine, visible mist. Honeywell also offers humidifiers that create invisible mists, but I like to know that it’s working. 😉
This humidifier is extremely quiet. It has a very low hum that I find relaxing. The front has a clear piece that is backlit, so you can see the water level. The machine automatically shuts off when it runs out of water. It can run up to 48 hours on a full tank. The output is controlled by a knob on the side so you can choose the relief that best suits your needs.
I put the humidifier in my bedroom, since that is where I spend the most time as I work outside the home. I am looking forward to waking up every morning feeling great! The Honeywell Designer Series Filter Free Cool Mist Humidifier is available at retailers and online for around $60-70.

This would be great for my son's room. I think the air is so dry that it makes him cough. This would be perfect!

We have a honeywall cool air humidifier (a different model) and we really like it. I love that they are quiet and look nice.
