They are very easy to use. To get it to expand, you just pour a little bit of water on it to soften the towel.

It starts to expand immediately. Then you start pulling it apart using your hands.

I know it sounds silly to get something wet that you want to be dry when you initially use it, but the you do not need to soak it. Just get the towel damp, and the only the very outsides of the towel will be wet. The rest will be dry and the damp parts will dry quickly and it will be ready to use!
