Even though the days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer that doesn’t do much to kill the desire for us hardy American types for entertaining in the winter. In fat, for some it’s a staple of the year – the famous BBQ in the snow comes to mind (nope, we’ve never done that…)
So, if like us you enjoy living your best life all year around, we’re going to give you a few good tips to get you through your winter, entertaining – like a boss!
RUNNING THE PEFECT WINTER BBQ
So it’s cold, so it’s snowing, so what? You an still (depending on the severity of the weather of course) run a decent BBQ, in fact you could have loads of fun turning on the grill when the white stuff comes calling.
But you are going to need a few survival tips to rock your winter BBQ.
First – heating, you need cozy corners with outdoor heaters and loads of cushions, fluffy blankets and ponchos and you’ll want a bar with mugs of hot sweet stuff. (And if you’re so inclined, you can find some winter drink recipes with a kick, here).
If you’re going to have friends with kids around the rules change somewhat, so make sure that you have plenty of sleds and games and make kids only spaces inside your house, just for them.
OUTDOOR KITCHENS
If you’re planning on doing this properly (and you are), then you’ll need to set up a first class outdoor kitchen. You’ll be amazed at the vast number of ideas you can find online to inspire you to create an outdoor kitchen that will serve it’s purpose no matter the season and keep the good times rolling. STAYING HEALTHY
We want you to have the best possible winter season, after all it is is the season to be jolly. The holidays are coming up with Thanksgiving and Christmas, Hanukkah and New Years parties and in between all of that are the ever present birthdays, winter weddings, end of year office parties and more, so remember to guard against colds and flues this winter (yep).
WINTER SPORTS, CAMPING AND ROAD TRIPS
Of course some of the most beautiful scenes in the world are on offer in the United States during the winter, wit some of the most iconic and world-famous road trips through some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world. Road tripping is a relatively inexpensive way to do a winter vacation, especially in these times. You’ll also have the added bonus of supporting local businesses and hospitality establishments that are in dire need, so check this list out and throw away your GPS, get into your car and go get lost in the great American landscape.
