Nesco Reversible Grill & Griddle Review

NescoPancackes

You may have seen my review on the Nesco 4-in-1 Pressure Cooker and I’m excited to share another great Nesco product with you: the Reversible Grill & Griddle. This picture of my pancakes would never have come out so perfect if it wasn’t for my Nesco griddle. I’ve never had a griddle and always make pancakes in a pan. The problem with a pan is that the sides of the pan make it hard to get the spatula under the pancakes to flip them without smearing the batter everywhere. Look at this griddle, no smear!

The Nesco Reversible Grill & Griddle is so easy to use. You just place the cooking plate on the drip tray base and plug it in. You can choose heat settings of low, medium, or high depending on what you’re cooking. The instruction manual says to allow 7-10 minutes for the plate to heat up, but in my experience it takes only about minute to heat up, a little longer for the high setting. My pancakes have come out perfect every time! The manual also includes a nice chart for various foods, proper heat settings, and cooking time for those foods.

The grill side is just as impressive. The ribbed plate allows juices to drain away from the food. This means you can also grill more than one food at a time. Grilling chicken and veggies? No problem! I also love that you can make the crisscross markings on burgers with the ribbed grill. Makes my burgers look just like my dads. 🙂

Another great feature is that the handles stay cool at all times. The nonstick coating on the plate makes it incredibly east to clean as well. Just wipe it down and voila! So much easier than cleaning a greasy pan or outdoor grill. I may never use a pan again! I ended up using the Grill & Griddle almost every day for two weeks because it is so convenient. I think the grill side would win, but the griddle side would get it's fair amount of use also. I have a daughter that just loves pancakes, I wear out both sides I'm sure.
