Many grocery stores offer gas rewards for purchasing groceries. I shop at King Soopers and for every $1 that I spend, I get 1 point. The best part about this is that the points are based on the total order before coupons. For every 100 points I accumulate in a month, I get $0.10 off per gallon, up to $1 off per gallon. I wait until the end of the month to use my reward when I have the most points accumulated. I don’t usually spend $1,000 on groceries in one month. The most I have ever spent was around $500, so I got $0.50 off per gallon.
Here’s the most important part!! Some stores cap the discount at $0.10 off per gallon. If your store allows up to $1 off, make note of how many gallons you’re allowed to use your reward for. King Soopers allows up to 30 gallons per reward redemption. My car only holds 15 gallons. If I don’t take advantage of the extra 15 gallons at $0.50 off per gallon, I’m losing out on $7.50! Take gas cans with you and fill up the gas cans so you can stretch your discount!
