Stitch Fix #11 Review {It’s Mah Birfday} + A $50 Gift Card Giveaway

January 7 is my birthday! I actually changed the date of my monthly delivery so that my Fix would arrive in time. My note to my stylist stated that I was willing to splurge because it is my birthday month, and I wanted to look glam but modest for my big day! Now I have to admit that I peek. When you get notification that your Fix has shipped, the link to checkout shows up online. If you click this link, all the items they sent you are listed (no pictures unless you have the iPhone app) with prices. I always search the internet for the items because I HAVE to know. What I have found is that first impressions are not always right. I might be disappointed after I peek, but after I try on the clothes my attitude does a 180. And my first impression for this box was not great. Two items I couldn’t find online, so there is still hope. I was expecting more dresses. From what I found online, this fix was not as glam as I was hoping.

But then the box arrived. Let’s see how they did!

RD STYLE Donno Embellished Neckline Sweater – $88

I loved the material and weave of this sweater, but it was just too short. I am not into midriff tops at all. My midsection is my problem area and needs to be covered up.

I thought the neck detail was beautiful! The thing I did not like about the neckline is that it is stiff and so it sits funny on the shoulders.

I have another RD Style sweater that has a similar split back, I guess they really like that style. It is fun!

PAPERMOON Ankeny Woven Back Knit Top – $58

I’ve been pinning floral shirts and I’m so happy I finally got one! This Papermoon shirt is gorgeous!

I love that is longer in back and covers my big ole butt. I also love that the back is black. It is more slimming on me than all over print.

This is definitely a keeper! Can’t you tell I’m so happy in it?

BRIXON IVY Lezlie Dress – $78

Every girl needs a little black dress in her closet, and I don’t have one! Can you believe it? I like that this dress is cinched at the waist and is very flowy.

I love love love the detailed neckline. This dress definitely fits my “glam but modest criteria.”

The dress is longer in the front than the sides, which makes for a fun flowy movement.

LE LIS Maude Floral Dress – $78

I think this dress is pretty, but the pattern is not really me.

To be honest, I don’t think this fix was as glam as I hoped. My stylist did mention she reviewed my Pinterest board, but I had just pinned a bunch of shiny and sparkly New-Years-Eve style dresses that I considered glam yet modest. I received none of them. I understand they can’t always send the exact items we pin, but these dresses weren’t even close.

LE LIS Calina Crochet Shoulder Knit Top – $54

This shirt is really cute and I love the lace detail! It is very comfy as well.

The lace starts at the shoulder and goes all the way around the back.

I really do like this shirt, but I’m torn. They send me a lot of gray items, and for some reason I always love them! I need more color. Should I keep it or return it?
