Stitch Fix Review (#23) + $20 Gift Card Giveaway!
This is my first fix as an Albuquerquean. (Say that 10 times fast.) I requested a box full of southwestern flare so I could fit in and look like a true New Mexican. Sonia, my awesome stylist for my last few boxes, was not available, so Michelle styled me. I have to admit that when I see my Stitch Fix has shipped, I act like I’m checking out so I can peek at my box. #SorryNotSorry After peeking, I was not too sure this was the box I requested, but I always wait until my box arrives to pass judgment.
If you are not familiar with Stitch Fix, you better get with the program! You pay a $20 styling fee upfront per box. You try on the clothes, keep the ones you like, return the ones you don’t. Pay for the items you keep and the $20 styling fee gets applied to that cost. Get 25% off if you buy all five items. Easy, right?! You can sign up here.
This post contains my Stitch Fix affiliate links. I earn a small credit if you sign up through these links. These credits help maintain my blog and allow me to continue showing you great Fixes!
After reading the note from my stylist, this WAS the southwestern style box I requested. Let’s see what’s inside!
Kut From the Kloth Rose Bootcut Pant – $78 [Return]
I love me a good KFTK pair of pants. They are so COMFORTABLE! But ummm…I made an oops. I moved to Albuquerque, where I am not working from home (aka no longer in an office), and I forgot to update my profile. *facepalm* Emily! Yep, I still had in there that I prefer professional clothing. Getting a pair of trousers hemmed that I don’t really need in the first place didn’t really sound that appealing, so I returned them. But I definitely would have kept them if I was still working in an office. I might have kept these pants if they were shorter, but they were sooo long. I had to wear my highest heels and they still almost touched the ground.
I normally don’t show my feet in pictures (or wear shoes at all for that matter), but since I have moved, I have a bigger and brighter space to take pictures! But this is now one of the few times I wear heels. I converted to flats for everyday wear awhile ago. I love heels, but they don’t love me. My poor feet have been tortured for years. Now that I’m in my old age (32), I am wiser and am protecting my feet with AirPlus cushions and liners.
They have different inserts, cushions, and liners for your different needs. When I wear really high heels, I need the Ball-of-Feet cushions. When I am breaking in new flats, I need the Hug My Heels liners. They are so comfortable!
Okay, I went on a tangent. Back to the Fix!
Brixon Ivy Jarred Lace Detail Cap-Sleeve Blouse – $58 [Return]
This blouse is BEAUTIFUL! I love the color and the lace detail. I returned this because I am not yet ready to show off my arms. (C’mon BeachBody!) I normally throw a cardigan on over sleeveless shirts, but it would be a sin to cover up the back of this shirt.
How gorgeous is that?!
Alice Blue Fieres Cold Shoulder Blouse – $58 [Return]
I don’t usually go for cold shoulder shirts, but this one was so flattering! I loved the sheer, poofy sleeves. I would have kept it, except that I could not for the life of me get the straps to stay up! They are adjustable, which is great, but I could not find the sweet spot. I think that the straps in the front are attached to close to the sleeve, and need to be attached closer to the middle.
Kut From the Kloth Simmons Bootcut Jean – $88 [Keep]
These jeans are to die for! They feel wider than most bootcut jeans, which is perfect for summer and wedges! I love these jeans! So comfortable! Keeper!
Brixon Ivy Sylvester Split Neck Blouse – $54 [Return]
While I love the color and style of this blouse, it was a little snug in the arms. Stupid arms. I have been working out and hopefully I won’t have this problem much longer. But I never justify buying clothes for “when they fit one day.”
So that was my fix! While it was not quite the southwestern style I was looking for, it had some very pretty pieces. What did you think? I am very excited to be able to share better pictures now that I have better lighting and more space. Next month’s fix will be even better because I bought a GIANT mirror! I am excited to style WHOLE outfits for you.
