Sun Basket: Healthy Cooking Made Easy
I received a free product in exchange for a review. All opinions expressed herein are my own.
I love to cook, but sometimes I feel like it is just too much work to cook a nice meal for one or two people. You have to browse hundreds of recipes online and make a decision, drive to the store to get all the ingredients, and sometimes do math to figure out how to reduce a recipe that makes 8 servings to only 2 servings. Fractions are my enemy! Then after all that work, you still have to cook the meal.
I am in love with this delivery service call Sun Basket. It is a recipe and ingredient delivery service that eliminates all of the additional work before cooking a meal, while leaving the cooking experience to you. Every week you get to choose 3 delicious recipes from a small list of around 7 recipes. Each recipe usually makes 2 servings. Sun Basket provides hand-selected, seasonal food from the Pacific Coast’s best farms. You can personalize your basket with Chef’s Choice, Paleo-Friendly, Gluten-Free and Vegetarian options. The recipes change weekly and you can skip a week if you need to. Sun Basket starts at $9.99 per meal. They currently deliver to the following states: CA, OR, WA, NV, CO, ID, AZ and UT.
The recipes I chose were Sweet Italian Sausage with Kale and Radicchio, Steak Fajitas with Radish and Cucumber Salsa, and Spinach & White Bean Quesadilla with Basil Yogurt.
The ingredients are delivered in a large insulated box, so make sure you are able to receive your package and move everything to the fridge.
Each bag is clearly labeled with which recipe it belongs to. Recipe cards are included which have step by step instructions on how to prepare your meal.
I was not disappointed with any of meals. They were so delicious! I loved that the recipes included food items that I have never tried before, such as leek, fennel, and radicchio. It was also interesting to learn how to use greek yogurt as a substitute for various ingredients, such as sour cream. These are not recipes I probably would have picked on my own, so I love that I was able to try new things. At $9.99 per meal, it is also cheaper than going out to eat. Sun Basket is a service I will definitely be trying again!
