Traverse Bay Farms Fruit Salsa Review

traversebayfarms

Salsa is a staple in my home because it is so versatile and makes for quick dinners. Most people think of dipping chips when they think of salsa, but there are so many other uses. I received two flavors of salsa to review from Traverse Bay Farms: Pineapple and Red Raspberry. They also have Cherry, Peach, and Mango salsa. Their salsas are made in small batches with real fruits and vegetables. I could tell just from looking at the salsa that it was a quality product. Traverse Bay Farms is also committed to “Going Green.” The core concept of their Green policy is to operate their business in an eco-friendly way, purchase local fruit from local farmers to support local agriculture, and recycle whenever possible. I love supporting companies like Traverse Bay Farms.

Traverse Bay Farms has won awards for their Red Raspberry, Pineapple, and Peach fruit salsas. The Red Raspberry salsa has won first place at the Scovie Awards two years in a row! The Scovie Awards is the world’s largest spicy food competition. All the fruit salsas are medium spicy, but the fruit really balances it out. I was unsure of how a fruit salsa would taste, but I can see why Red Raspberry has won two years in a row! I cut a block of cream cheese and poured the Red Raspberry salsa over it and served with pretzel thins. I couldn’t stop eating it! The sweet and spicy combination of this mouth watering flavor had me begging for more.

The pineapple salsa is great for making chicken tacos. I baked chicken covered in the salsa at 325 degrees for 40 minutes. Then cut up the chicken and place on a tortilla. Spoon the salsa from the baking dish onto the chicken. Add your favorite toppings. The pineapple adds a pleasant twist to a regular dish.
