Upcycle a Tin Candle to a Beautiful Jewelry Box
I received this beautiful Illume Gilded Amberleaf Metallic Knob Tin Candle in my PopSugar Special Edition Must Have Holiday Box for Her. It was one of the best smelling candles ever! I was so sad when it ran out, but the tin was so pretty that I had to do something with it. So I decided to upcycle it! It makes a great display piece, so I decided to make a jewelry box out of it.
1) After the candle has burned all the way, let the wax harden. It is less messy to remove the wax when it is hardened. You can put it in the freezer to quicken the process.
2) Take a butter knife and gently poke holes in the wax. The wax will crack and start to come apart. Scoop out the wax pieces.
3) Clean the tin with soap and water.
4) Dry the tin completely to prevent rusting.
You can paint it if you desire, but I think the gold is so pretty as it is. Add jewelry and you have a beautiful display piece for your vanity!
You can purchase this candle on for $23.50. It’s worth it!!

That's such a clever idea for a jewelry box. Did it take a while to make it? Something like that would look awesome in my vanity, just like you suggested. Then again, it is just a little bit smaller than I would've hoped. I may have to look elsewhere for a jewelry box. Do you have any tips on where to look?
