Whipped Cream Vodka Buttercream Frosting
I have this bottle of whipped cream vodka laying around and I had no idea what to do with it. The only thing that came to mind was make some kind of shot, but I don’t do shots that often. It usually isn’t very pleasant. After much deliberation, I came up with the genius idea to make cupcakes with my whipped cream vodka. Vodka + Cupcakes = Best. Idea. Ever. Through my research, I discovered that you do not mix the alcohol in with the cupcake batter. I was pleased to read this because I was worried the alcohol might be cooked off in the oven. Nope, it goes right into the frosting. Yippee!! These are delicious. I may have eaten 5 of them while blogging this process…
Did you know you can buy groceries on Amazon? I love purchasing from the comfort of my home!
Ingredients
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
3 cups powdered sugar
2 tbsp whipped cream vodka
Directions
1. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar.
2. Add vodka, one tablespoon at a time. (Add more or less depending on your desired consistency.)
Ok, you have a bowl of amaze-balls frosting, now what? I use a Wilton cupcake decorating kit. Fill up your bag and get to it!
I used Blue Velvet cake mix to make the cupcakes. The color is fantastic! The taste was not great. I would recommend using some other cupcake mix.
Now I have beautiful cupcakes that I can put in custom cake boxes and send to my friends.
