Wantable Style Edit #1 – May 2015
The Style Edit is a new personal styling service from Wantable that allows you to try before you buy. This means you get to try on 5 handpicked items in the comfort of your own home before paying for them. Item prices are based on your personal preferences but usually range from $50-$100 each. I thought this wasn’t being released until June, so I was really excited to get a box this month!
It is similar to Stitch Fix and Dailylook, in that you pay $20 for the styling fee and then the fee gets credited toward any items you keep. I love the quote on the card insert: “Everyday is a fashion show and the world is the runway.” – Coco Chanel
My favorite part is opening the box and seeing all the different patterns and colors. Here is what I received in my very first Wantable Style Edit box:
Kut from the Kloth Classic Denim Jacket – $79 [Keep]
Can you believe I have never owned a denim jacket?! I was so excited to see this item in my box! It fit great and I’m happy to finally own something from Kut.
BB Dakota V-Neck Marled Sweater – $95 [Return]
In my style quiz, I put that I loved straight and loose clothing. This sweater was really comfy, but has no shape whatsoever and it is short. Definitely not right for my body type so it is going back. But I do like BB Dakota and was happy to see this brand in this box.
*Note: I found this sweater on Amazon for $20-$50 cheaper!
Freeway 3/4 Sleeve Printed Dress – $68 [Return]
I was so sad when this dress didn’t fit. Usually I’m not one for busy patterns. But I love the colors in this dress. Unfortunately it didn’t fit in the upper arm area, so I couldn’t even get it on all the way.
French Connection Classic Polly Plains Top – $48 [Return]
I love the vibrant color of this shirt, but it is another piece that is short in front with no shape. It just did not look right on me.
French Connection Classic Polly Plains Top – $48 [Return]
I was really disappointed that they included two of the same shirt, just in different colors. Same issues as the first, on top of the fact that I have way too much navy in my closet.
*Note: This shirt is on sale at for $36.
I think this was OK for the first box. I am just really excited about the jacket. We will see how next month goes!
