5 Essential Tips for Cleaning Out Your Closet

I recently moved to save money, and with that comes sacrifices. Like trading in a walk-in closet for reach-in closet that holds half my clothes comfortably. I tried to fit as much as possible in my tiny closet, which meant stuff was being hidden. I had layers of clothes and shoes. I found myself wearing the same 5 shirts every week. I knew it was time to clean out and organize my closet! It seems so daunting, but as soon as you take all your clothes out of your closet, it is easy to dive right in!

Here are the top 5 questions you need to ask yourself in order to purge your clothes successfully.

Does It Fit?

Have I Worn It In The Past Year?

Does It Bring Me Joy and Make Me Feel Confident?

How Worn/Dirty Is The Clothing Item?

Is It In Style and Would You Buy It If You Saw It In A Store Today?

The answers to these questions will allow you to get rid of your clothes easily! It is so freeing! Check out my closet before I tackled this project:

Ahhhh. I can breathe easier just looking at this. Less cluttered and everything is visible.

I love to use bins, baskets, and shoe hangers to organize my closet. You can find some cheap ones at your local Ross or TJMaxx. If you prefer to shop online, here are some great pieces for your closet.
